For as long as I can remember, I didn’t dream too often, and when I did, it would be about work, teaching, the days I was living. It happened last night. I was teaching classes in my dreams, feeling all of the ups and downs of that. That is how life is. I woke up grateful for today, but always missing the wonderful people that I have gotten to know over the years. I hope if you are reading this today that you are maneuvering the Ups and Downs of life the best you are able. I read all of the comments and won’t ever post unless it is general to everyone. Learning New Things….

I was an orchestra teacher for 33 years in the Kettering City Schools and the Fairborn City Schools. I also enjoyed work with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra as well as Peace Lutheran Church, Church of the Cross United Methodist and Shroyer Rd. Baptist Church. View all posts by richwright1966

Mr. Wright :)I am so very grateful that this entry popped up in my email today. I’ve been meaning to reach out to you and I’m sorry that I haven’t done it sooner. First of all congratulations on your retirement and congratulations on all of the lives that you touched through your work! How beautiful it is that you are able to relive some of your very special moments through a dream. Couldn’t agree with you more… That life is so full of ups and downs. But the downs provide us with learning lessons and make us grateful for the ups! I’d love to reach out to you in more length! I hope this summer is treating you and your family well. Ella 🙂

I miss it all Duncan, and I miss you a lot. I think you are amazing and heroic. Just keep getting after it all. No violin? Then play a lot of guitar, it helps, and you are a great guitarist and singer. Check in anytime.

We miss you a lot Mr. Wright. It’s been so hard playing viola everyday not being able to go say hi to you. The magic in orchestra is gone and everyone is growing tired. I keep playing and it’s already the 5th week and I’m drained. I’m not excited for this upcoming concerts because my accomplishments over the past 4 years feel like they aren’t good enough for my position because Ms. Dennis expects so much. She’s a good teacher of course. But she isn’t you and you having us as our teacher was probably the best moments of my school career and I will always remember the days you taught us. Please come to the Philharmonster concert! 😭🙏🏼

Ellie, I miss you and everyone a lot as well. It is all very new for me. I’d love to see the Philharmonster though I will probably sneak in and sneak out to make sure all of the attention is on the fine musicians and directors on stage. You remain one of the finest viola players I have ever had the privilege to teach. It can be difficult moving to new groups. I know whatever you will do well in whatever you do in your life. Check in anytime.
